Kroger.... that's trouble. Get ahold of broker. Negotiate layover. If rate con shows Sunday you can at least get one day pay
Tell him to call you or you will seek other legal options. Tell him since the rate con shows Sunday, you need this figured out now, not tomorrow. And I would mention that if truck isn't empty on scheduled day, there are other legal options you can seek out. Call the shipper if you can, let them know broker is not handling their product as he should be
If you are booked on another load and miss it due to this brokers inability to give real info on this load, they need to compensate you.
Text is good. Just get him to agree to layover or detention pay, email or text can be much better when they decide that they didn't agree to pay
Breach of contract. I was told by my lawyer on a particular load I was on 6 years ago, that if broker doesn't take reasonable steps to rectify situation in a reasonable amount of time there are legal actions that can be take. The load becomes "abandoned" by broker and you as carrier has options to rectify situation. Every situation is different, so do your research on yours
Appt switches couple of days and load becomes abandoned? Get in a legal battle over 250-500 layover fee? Not realistic. We are not talking about broker not answering the phone for a week
Who wants to sit on a load for an additional one or more days for 250-500 dollars? That's alot of lost opportunity to earn $
Nobody does, but that's how much they are paying, unless you specify different amount on the rate confirmation and they sign for it.
