Wouldn’t it pop up a check engine light for that?

That's why the shop I went to kept insisting there was no injector issues. Cause there wasn't a light. Went to a volvo dealer after injectors and cups, due to a bad tensioner. While he was replacing it I was speaking of the issues I'd had since having the truck I have and mentioned jerking and surging going up any and I mean any kind of hill, incline, etc. He immediately said injectors. According to him, on this model (not sure if he meant truck or engine) it won't throw a code. So I don't know really. If it should throw one, it didn't in mine. But I did have the air bubbles coming up from the return line in the fuel tank. I just replaced it all, injectors and cups. Got a little better fuel mileage out of it.

Oh sorry, I forgot you did replace your cups. I'm not sure I'd they put them in the wrong spots if it would throw a code. Sure seems like it would or should though throw a code if that is what it is. I guess there's something with trim codes or some such business. I'm not sure how any of that works though. You'd think it wouldn't matter.

14 liter Detroit won't throw a code if they have the wrong calibration #s probably won't notice much difference
