What to expect at Orientation with KLLM

We must have driven past you, we just fueled in West Mephis this morning.

 

I might have seen some of you guys there last week and didn't know it. I was dispatched to the Atlanta yard, and it turned out to be a random drug test. Got that done, got a wash on the truck and headed out for another load. While I was checking out of the yard, I saw several guys from orientation hanging around on break at the tables outside. Oh well, maybe I'll meet some of you guys next time.

 

Dang, I was delivering to the Kroger Dist Center in Memphis and had to park at the twin Pilots on US 78 down the road. Oh well, so close but yet so far.

 

I was wondering if during orientation for OTR training that you go to the terminal closest to your home, or if they send you someplace distant. I live within driving distance to the Fontana terminal and wonder if I can go thru orientation there (and sleep in my own bed at nite) if I am lucky enough to get hired by KLLM when I get out of school....

As long as they are doing orientation there. That is a better question for your recruiter. When I started they only did orientation out of Jackson Miss, or atleast that's where I was sent (from Georgia) but now they have orientation in Georgia & Mississippi.

 

I do not know about KLLM but I live in Kansas City, MO and Swift has a terminal just about 40 miles from there in Kansas where I would attend their orientation. Just remember that all of a company's terminals conduct orientation so I would just ask the recruiter.

I am supposed to be attending orientation in Jackson Nov 9. I'm supposed to call them tomorrow to confirm for sure.

 

showtime yes i have my hazmat endorsement just getting fingerprinting will have to wait till i get back home after training to get printed on my CDL though i thought you had to have your hazmat to work at KLLM do you have yours
