Ok in SSCC TDA and will have my Cdl here next few weeks after that i have offers to run for SNI, USA Truck, and PAM. Was just wondering How long it takes to get into Oreintation and training with these companys. The other thing is i have been reading a lot of these post from people in training and was wondering if any of you all could tell me a little how the training goes for over the road.

Training varies from company to company. If you want specifics, talk with the recruiter of each company. Orientation is the time it takes to do the paperwork and learn the procedures for the company. Anywhere from one day to a week.
Training is the period of time the company figures it will take you to learn how to safely operate as a solo driver. It varies from company to company. -
I'm quite sure that between those 3 companies, about 50-100 or more drivers quit today.
You truck is awaiting, just pick a color !!!!! -
Orientation runs a few days to a week and a half, doing pee tests, log books, filling out apps, watching safety vids and learning how to do their paperwork and qualcomm. After that you get assigned a trainer and usually are out from 4 to 8 weeks. Sounds like a pain in the butt, but is actually pretty fun and goes by quick. You will definitely get to meet some interesting people at the least. Once you finished your time with your trainer most companies make you take a test and then assign you a truck and try to get you by the house. During your time with the trainer it is probably unlikely you will get home, so bring what you need to orientation for at least a month. Might want to bring your electronics and such for when you are assigned your truck so that you will have them from the get go. Sucks driving without your cb and stuff! Bring a camera or video camera it is definitely an adventure.
tallcountry Thanks this.
