From that list, it doesn't appear that he's too interested in flatbedding. Unless I'm mistaken, only Roehl does flatbedding.

But John B, if you'd be interested in flatbedding, Iowa is in prime territory for that. In addition to TMC I'd contact Maveric and Boyd Brothers. There's pleanty of other good ones but that's where I'd start.

Of your existing list, I'd put Con-Way and Crete at the top.

Crete has a flatbed division if you want to go flatbedding, I'm a crete driver and I know they are good about training, they actually do train you, the trainer will be in the passenger seat for 3 weeks minimum and they take the time to teach you to back up, plus the pay package is pretty good for rookies, I think within a year you will be at almost 40 cpm, if not at that.

    Ask yourself some questions
    Is home time important?
If so, how much home time do you need?
Do you want to drive for a large company with a high turn over rate?
Would you be happier with a smaller company close to home that would give more home time?
What kind of benfits are you looking for?
Is it import for you to have a new truck or are you willing to drive an older truck if the benfits are good?
What kind of training do you think would be better for you?
3 weeks with a trainer and then on the road alone or more time with a trainer to help make you a safer driver?
What type of truck do you want to drive?

Then pick 3 or 4 companys that best meet your needs and work on getting a job with one of them.

I should clarify crete training, its 3 weeks with the trainer in the passenger seat then its more of a team op for another 3 weeks. Unless they have changed thier ways werner and covenent is you get in the truck and team almost from the start, wich I don't agree with at all.
