I'm looking at buying one of these with a 18 ft box on it to build a shop in the back and do side work out of it. I haven't been around these DT466 engines much and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if there's anything I should look out for? Any good or bad opinions about these things? Its got a 4 speed Allison behind it and has 240,000 miles on it. I'm gonna go test drive it and make a decision next week.
Thanks for any help
What to look for on a 2007 International with a DT466 engine?

Is the engine blue or black in colour? If you actually have a maxxforce, I would walk away. Maxxforces are black in colour.

Hell I would walk away from any DT 2005 and up. When they went egr they were total turds. Had terrible camshaft/lifter issues, usually from lifter retainers breaking allowing lifter to turn sideways.

Yes, no DPF.

Oil cooler failures. Set you back about $1500 unless you do it yourself. It isn't a "simple" inline radiator oil cooler like your Ford F-350.

Unless you love punishment stay away from egr DT's and anything that says maxxforce on the hood.
Look for a nice 2007 and older M2 freightliner or T300 Kenworth with a cummins or cat. -

How is the truck running now

I'd be looking for similar truck with small Cummins. You'll hate working out of a box truck BTW.
