Is that a safety sling with a cup? I wonder if it qualifies as PPE?

One hot summer day at a service plaza on the Ohio Turnpike I asked an attendant a question concerning the trucker showers. He said you don't look like a trucker. I replied well thank you very much, I've tried to not look like a trucker for almost fifty years now. I had my usual summer uniform on. Pocket tee shirt, clean no stains, denim shorts and my favorite foot wear, Nike Air cross trainers. In colder weather I switch to long jeans and boots, Wellington style.

    A_C_Cooper and Lepton1 Thank this.

I don't understand people who wear cowboy "Gear" I spent 18 yrs on a farm, and only wore the "COWBOY Costume" Because it was necessary the minute I was done with the cattle and horses and other "RANCH" work, I would put on a pair of shorts and t-shirt...Oh well there was the 6 yrs bull riding I wore it also

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Everyone already hates us. We scare them. We're big and sometimes emit black smoke out our exhaust.

I do my best to never look like a bum. That's MY thing. I wear jeans and a polo shirt most times. If it's 114-degrees out, sure, I wear shorts. And I NEVER go into a receiver or shipper looking like a bum.

It may not be right or fair, but people DO judge you by your appearance. I may not have had a shower in 4 days, but my hair is combed, my clothes are clean and I look like a regular guy as best I can.

We ALREADY get treated like dirtbags. I try not to LOOK like a dirtbag.

FLATBED, you're going to be filthy a LOT. No way around it if you're tarping. But you don't have to DRESS filthy. And baby-wipes are wondrous things in-between showers.

High vis Carhartt long sleeve T shirt, goes on when I get up and stays on til I shut down.

Got a problem with that? Then you are way too concerned with other people's business.

That's one way to avoid tarping. I'm sure plenty of drivers will line up to do it for you.

    firemedic2816 and LindaPV Thank this.
