Probably made in a factory that partially or fully shutdown last year for covid.
Appliance places by me were selling floor models and scratch and dent only for the most part bc they couldn't get new units in.

    77fib77 Thanks this.

Hmm. I went to RedWings, their shoes must be special ordered, he was out of a lot sizes. Why? Covid shut down the meat packing plants intermittently which stopped the tannery's from running at capacity. Leather shortage. He said 3 to 4 weeks to get boots.

    ^^^ this
Contrary to most, I will pay the extra fuel with no complaints knowing I can start a stupid heavy load anywhere without tearing the truck apart.
And get 500 hp range is going to ruin you driving your 350 hp truck. :occasion5:

Just to go over the original questions:

Yes, I would prefer about 1400 to 1500 RPM at cruising speed of 70. The emissions crap seems to work a little better and driveability is better. There will be a VERY SLIGHT penalty in fuel economy compared to downspeeding the engine, but you don’t really care about fuel economy, or you would be driving 55 -60.

You can look up the engine RPM on the Eaton website if you have the transmission model, tire size and rear end ratio.

I’ve done what you’ve done with a 10 speed. I like the 13 better, and I would not turn down an 18. I’m an old curmudgeon, and don’t trust the automated transmissions.

Anything over 435.HP would be fine on flat ground. The lower the HP, the more I want that 13, however.

Emissions engines before 2017 become problem children past 600K miles, pretty consistently. Not just the emissions part, but also main engine components due to things like carbon packing. So even if the emissions equipment were to fall off, you may still end up with problems.

Trucks with small sleepers are often cheaper than day cabs. And a small sleeper gives options.
