It's funny how 6k or so will change things when you get over 75K gross. 5K more and that's another gear to drop but if you had a 20k load you would hardly know it was there.

No it's definitely more than just L,M,H. But my Jake in my Cascadia is a button on the steering wheel.
I mean yea it's hard to reach at times.

Lol same here. I got a 20 year old kw with a c12 in it that just barks. I’m talking scaring people everyday loud.

They offered me a new truck with an auto instead of my 8LL and some gutless cummins in it. I think it had an ism in it.

I told them thanks but no thanks. I drive a mixer so auto is nice for the older folks with bad knees to do curb and sidewalk but it’s also nice to get up to freeway speed in a timely manner and drop it in low low and claw your way up a 25% mud hill. I’m keeping this truck until they retire it. Plus you can’t beat this fake wood interior. Lol

The head mechanic knows I love this truck and won’t give it up. Just put all new hydraulic lines on it and a new wiring harness and ac compressor. She’s ready to rip for years to come.

They really are super loud though. Just raspy screaming loud. Not the deep loud like big block engine Jakes. Mine sounds the same as that Mack in a tunnel.

    Lepton1 and Blackshack46 Thank this.

We come back with 28 K in the box, and he barely shifts down on any hill from Vancouver BC to Pocatello... But, yeah, there's a huge difference between 65K and 88K gross on a steep hill, four gears or more.

On that route, the MX is cutting the drive time by close to an hour each way over a 500 HP DDEC IV. Faster down hills are the biggest difference.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
