Transportation workers identification credential.
Allows access to ports, bases, high security areas. Basically a card that says your not a terrorist or the like and you are safe to be in this area.Last edited: Jun 15, 2016

Its a cookie surrounded by caramel then covered in chocolate. Kinda puts me in mind of a really big KitKat bar. Theres 2 of them in the package and depending on whether youre democrat or republican determins if you eat the left TWIX or the right first.
91B20H8, KingCocoaBean, David_Simpson and 7 others Thank this. -
It allows entry to chemical plants, rail yards, military bases, sea ports, etc.
If you don't have TWIC the security guard at where ever you are will have you wait outside the gate until he can arrange an escort for you. Then you will have to arrange payment through your company for the escort service and prices vary; $25.00 or $125.00 or whatever they want to charge.
I was asked for mine a lot; every time I entered a chemical plant. -
I currently don't have to frequent any places that require one, so no sense in ponying up the money to get it, unless the company wants to and that isn't likely.

I got a TWIC early on. It is as is said above something that lets you go onto different places with an escort. It pays for itself after your third trip. So if you are going to a port or military place more then 3 times get it.
I love the water being from Missouri we don't have many Large Ships come by Kansas City. So, I thought it would be neat to have one. Once I got it my first time to use it was in a Port near Philly. Bananas from Dole to Walmart. The USS United States was anchored there. The record holder for Trans Atlantic crossing. It was rusted but looked like it could fly just tied up there. Now it appears they have raised the money to have it over hauled. If it gets into service I plan on taking a cruise in her.
