There is no cut off do you have a trailer attached or not. I already stated earlier all cement trucks will haul 80000 pounds gross because of the number of axles they have. They only require a class B license because it is not a combination vehicle

Had a few goods chuckles off it. -
Class A is a commercial drivers license. Unless your involved with commercial operations you don't need any special license to drive a semi towing a 48' horse trailer behind at 80,000 pounds as an example. I have many friends that do this. No medial, no class A, no log book, NO NOTHING!!!

I don't know how it works in other states but California certainly does issue and require non commercial class a and b licenses for the appropriate vehicles.ZVar Thanks this.
