Wow are you a truck driver now? How do you like the pay cut?

Heavy equipment operator. I started at the bottom at a crusher plant and worked my way up to crusher operator then, went to a utility operator at a landfill. Fairly easy for an equipment operator, never had to make a specific grade, just did everything by eyeball. I wanted to get into excavating foundations as there was demand for equipment operators with a CDL that could transport the excavator from one site to another, residential. I decided to go the OTR CDL mill route and to be honest, it isn't all that bad in relation to the amount of work required and I'm glad I get to roam around so much. Money is decent but money isn't everything to me.

Plumber for 30 years, self employed last 16. Now instead of chasing my money I chase the wind. Pay isn't as good but I am much happier and work a lot less.
