.18/mile would only see me walking back out the door. I consider that an insult of the most egregious kind. In other words, "Them's fighten words."

I agree verymuch so unless your making 18CPM for all miles on a team. Thats not bad if that is all going to you.

yeah the norm here in Washington is 0.27-0.32cpm but really the miles you run is most important you could be making .40cpm but only drive 1000 a week or .27cpm and drive 3500 a week who's really making more money just another thing to think about.

what state are you driving in? 18cpm is unheard of now days

    Wrong,

its cents per mile that matters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a jack@$$ usually key word, monthly millage matters way more look at the big picture and if it didn't recruiters would not advertise avg.mileage
and to answer your question 18cpm seems low the norm here is .27 to .32cpm

i've seen new drivers get up to 52K in their first yr.

i dunno, it all depends on where/how/how much you look. What was your first girlfriend/boyfriend like?; You'd be suprised. On the other hand, some people in the dating game for a while (like me sometimes) get "heavier" individuals sometimes. All depends on how many people you meet.

It all depends on where/how you look/how many companies you look at/apply for.

    That plus luck.

to get me to live in a rolling closet, be gone for weeks at a time and have to put up with all the crap that OTR truckers do i would have to make $600 AFTER TAXES bare minimum a week

anything less i would quit....not because im lazy, but because i know i can find a job making close to that and get to go home every night

Keep believing those recruiters, you'll learn in a few years, then you may give some advice.

Working harder (more miles), is NOT the correct answer !!!!!
