Houston > Birmingham AL . 55,000 lbs. 645miles load being offered at $1050 lowest and $1200 highest. Several brokers are posting them and say they are moving them at that rate. Do your homework , find out how much permits will cost and then run the #s. One of the brokers that called me admitted he was emberrased to post them at that rate, but guys have been grabbing them.
I don't know who in their right mind would cover those loads.
Theres good freight out there also, don't get me wrong, but don't think buying an RGN will shelter you from stupid people hauling for cheap, no matter the weight or the dims.
What type of RGN trailer I need to make money?

start with a 2 axle with a flip,,if you buy new order with ABS on all axles..stay away from XL,,bought 2 new both ordered and had major problems with both and had to fight to get XL to fix the trailers,Doonan makes a great RGN and they bend over backwards to keep you happy,,If you operate in snow regions a hydrolic goose neck is best,,get a 29ft well minimum,,top and rear decks help finding more freight,,TrailKIng is good too. You want a 35 ton,,don't get fooled into a 30 ton,,get out riggers too,
As for the cheap rate out of Houston,,hear it all the time from brokers "Others are hauling if for that rate" I tell them let them go broke,,Amazing how the next day the rates go up,,,the load out of Houston will cost a lot for Mississippi and Lousiana Permts too,,
If more than one broker has the same load usually the load is double brokered too,,someone has to be the first broker,Last edited: Sep 20, 2014

I took a break from it, never got booted unfortunately for some idiots. Between those that "should" know better, and the cry babies that run to teacher, I honestly didnt miss it much. Think Ty felt the same way after that particular episode.
My deal is, when something isn't enjoyable during my down time, I don't do it. Some in "power" seem to think all I do is stir the pot etc, and funnily seem to miss all the time I spent helping folks etc. Oh well....Lesson learned on my end, screw the helping part unless it's someone I know!

I know that but my sarcastic side is evil.
I have to run an idea past you and Carl and Ty and a few others. Don't know if I want to start a thread or not. Concerns 2 axle jeeps -
Been about 10yrs since I pulled multi axle, but feel free to email or call me mate. If I dont know an answer, you know me well enough to know I wont give you one! I dont get email notifications through TTR for some reason, never have, so PM's are out.
Will send you my email addy, cant remember if you have it or not.
