T440, and it's heavy duty - medium duty is Class 4 - 6, which doesn't require a CDL (except for hazmat haulers and buses). A Class 8 truck (GVWR in excess of 33,000 lbs.) is heavy duty.

Ah beverage hauling; gotta love city traffic, pedestrians, parking so you aren't ticketed, people wanting to steal your stuff(load and cab), up and down the rickety stairs, rotating stock, appointment times on and on. But hey good place to start and some people love it.

Your going to need a class A license. You can tell who has been around and who hasn't. Canned products such as a beverage distributor has a heavy product. Your class license restrictions depends on the GVW of a truck even if it's empty.

You only need a Class A if the GCWR is over 26k while towing a trailer with a GVWR in excess of 10k. Class B is good for single vehicles with a GVWR over 26k. The only one which wouldn't work for that truck would be a Class C.

I'm confused. So a class B driver could drive a 3 or 4 axle truck w/ a GVW of 46k/56k? Just no trailer unless it's under 10k. I wonder who writes these laws up. Thanks for the clarification.

In CDL school the teacher pointed to one and joked, "I bet he goes home and tells his wife he drives a truck!" Hehehehee

But where that truck will have to go, be glad you are not trying to fit a full semi!

And getting out of the seat regularly is not a bad thing.
