This is an old thread. My buddy got an $800 TONU out of CHR about a year ago on a time critical expedited load that he deadheaded 200 miles to pickup. The scenario was it was a Thursday or Friday before a long holiday 3 day weekend, shipper was about to close...
The load was super hot but the shipper closed at 16:30. They were tracking him on macropoint. He got there right @ 16:30 and the employees at the shipper were leaving, told CHR he never showed, lol. We've worked with that particular branch a lot and on a first name basis there. Even so this was most likely a world record for 53' dry van TONU, especially from CHR. I don't expect any other branch would have even considered anything other than $150.
They apologized profusely and asked him what he needed for TONU and #### if they didn't make it happen no ifs, and, or buts. They have some warts as every company does but overall I still think they are one of the best brokerage out here to work with. They're head and shoulders superior to any other mega brokerage out there. Especially of the 3 lettered variety most of their 3 lettered competitors are ridiculous with shenanigans.

CH Robinson doesn't pay detention at all. If you read carrier agreement or rate confirmation it has nothing about detention even no single word. And when I actually had delay I called, emailed them never got approved so lesson learned better book from broker you know firs as paying detention
