Stupidest load
A load of bottled beer (can't remember where exactly I loaded now... Somewhere in the mid west). Shipper requested a dry van, load was going to Idaho... In January! I called ahead to shipper and told them that it was below zero in the Rockies and that I could get a refer but would have do divert 2 hours out of the way... They said no... Dry van was fine. So I notified dispatch... Was essentially told customer knows best. So I loaded, noted all previous conversations and orders on the bol, and headed west. 2 nights later I pull into Laramie Wyoming in -20 degree weather. I shook my head as I walked past the trailer headed in for a shower... I could hear the bottles bursting inside. Next day I arrive at the receiver, they popped the doors and started yelling... I handed them the bol and pointed out my notes. An hour later dispatch called me and I was diverted to a glass recycler. Lol.... Cant fix stupid I guess.
what was the WORST or CRAZIEST thing you have ever hauled?

I did about 50 containers of these back in 2014. We were shipping them straight from the port to the companies DC in Michigan though. Freight vanished in the great good freight die-off of 2015 lol.Klleetrucking and DeepSouthRollin Thank this.

glad you will be able to use this experience as your own at the coffee counter. This will offset your black helicopter loads, getting DOT officer fired and calling the US Marshalls. Enjoy learning how to drive in your automatic ELD truck.DeepSouthRollin Thanks this.

I dunno, the one with the load of beer bottles freezing and then being told to head to a glass recycler is great as well !!!

Back when I drove for Swift they sent me to pick up a pre-loaded trailer at a Sear DC once. The load was going from Kentucky to New Mexico. When I looked at the bill I saw there was only a single bicycle on the trailer. I asked the shipping clerk and she said that was really the entire shipment. I remember thinking it must have been one major customer problem to get them to waste a whole trailer that way. But if that was the case I would think they could have FedEx'd it. Anyway, I did the trip.TaterWagon#62, Lepton1 and DeepSouthRollin Thank this.
