What winch cable for semitrailer braden winch?

never pull without 5 turns of cable on the drum,and remember that your winch loses power and adds speed with every layer of cable on the drum.the speed change is minor per layer but the power is notable, up to 10%.
The winch should be rated for the pull on the first layer of cable with a safety factor of 2 with the largest recommended cable.

 

Sure a book might say that. But a on/off loading with low resistance your well in your range at two. Would I do a lift at two raps, Hell No. I have done a single wrecker lift at 160k. Keep as much cable as you can on winch. Dont need to do the math.
