What would be the bare minimum of money you take with you...

Oh ok k thought in an earlier post you wanted to know if a rental car place would take your card.

 

See, my only concern is I went on vacation last year to Myrtle Beach. Called the bank & told them I would be traveling. I'll be ###### if I wasn't out for lunch in Murrels Inlet treating my Mom & Dad to lunch...tab was like $120 & the waitress brings my debit card back saying it was declined. I had a few thousand bucks in the account but the bank had put security hold (even though I told them I was traveling) on it because I was making purchases across the US.

What do you guys do on the job when something like this happens? I called the bank & got it unlocked (after about 20 minutes) but I don't wanna do that every other day on the road when I'm on the clock.

I get taking a "few" bucks in cash is a good idea in a pinch but how much is too much? I don't wanna be a target when @ the TA & bills are exploding outta the wallet.

 

WalMart. I don't have any problems with my debit card until I go to Walmart out of state. Instant red flag. Card gets declined. If you try the PIN code more than 5 times, they will put a 24 hour hold on. Thing is, if your bank is closed on the weekend, you're screwed

$1000 emergency money for company drivers. And you need a credit card, has to be a credit card to rent a car. Do not carry a grand in your wallet. Put it in a safe in your truck with that credit card, birth certificate/SS card.

You're working at a craphole company if you have to clean your truck out every time you go home.
