What would happen if you miss a weight station?
Lets say that you had no prior notice(no yellow lights, electronic board saying OPEN or CLOSED or any other trucks going in to tell you that is open)
Now, lets say you decide to pay a violation for missing the weight station.
would that go on your dac report, would it effect your chances of getting a job?

I'm about to leave on my own for the first time and Just thinking of things that could happen.

I ran the scale last summer.

sign said closed, I pulled out around the the truck I was following and motored on.

2 minutes later here came the dot. he said the sign was on. we argued a minute and he told me to go to the next exit, turn around, go through the north bound scale, go to the second exit and turn around again and come back and pass through his south bound scale.

as I passed through (EMPTY!!! NO KIDDING) he red lighted me, did a full on creeper DOT inspection, cab search, said grab your papers and head inside.

once inside we argued some more as to whether the sign was open or closed as I passed it.

I said I'm empty I have no reason to run the scale and I just came on duty. He says I flipped it open just before you got to it, and that I'm writing you up.

His boss asked what was going and we both started arguing again...

The bossman asked if the younger guy had found anything on the inspection that led him to believe I would intentionally run past.

The guy fessed up a nope but said he was writing me anyways...

The older guy #####ed me out, I should be staring at the sign until my truck passed because it could flag open at any second, and asked why the truck in front of me pulled in if the sign said closed.

I said, man I looked up it said closed, the guy was slowing down so I hit the left lane to pass him, I have no clue why he pulled in, maybe he had to take a crap?

then the old guy said grab your papers and get out of here.

which I did, with young guy now arguing with older guy... lol

it really did say "CLOSED" !!! lol I know because the leters are a foot tall and you can't miss them. no ticket???? just lucky :yes2557:

Im6 I got one in NE.

Weigh in Motion said "weight checked do not exit"

I didn't exit and shortly I was chatting ever so pleasantly at the side of the road with a DOT witch and her lap dog of a partner.
End result I was called a liar multiple times and had to pay a $92 fine.

I ran a scale once, there was no ###### sign it was open, and when I realized it was I was already too fast to try to exit. They ah, didnt care. I dont think they really would though. 99% of the time I get greenlighted or bypassed if I get redlighted. Only once have I ever gotten pulled and that was to make sure we had IFTA or whatever it is paperwork from Werner. The two times I got DOT inspected they didnt care to look at logs. Just glanced over cdl-paperwork, waved me on. I even get greenlighted in banning hehe.
