If I fly somewhere to buy a truck and bring it home, what paperwork would I need. For example, tag, insurance, permits, etc. I plan on just getting the truck for now and then getting my authority in a few months, I just want to go ahead and get this truck because its a good deal I don't want to pass up. Thanks for any help. Shogun

Do you have a contract together, to show the financiers that this truck is going to make money, in order to secure the loan to buy this truck.

Or, is this truck such a good deal that you can afford to pay cash.

IF, the case is the latter of the two, have that truck inspected BEFORE purchase, by a reputable mechanic, while you watch. Otherwise, you may not make it home with this good deal of a truck.

I was mainly concerned about if I needed IFTA, bobtail insurance, etc. I will be paying cash for the truck.

Just get it insured via your insurance company and get a 15day trip permit. Your not hauling commercially to bring it home so as far as tehy know its a private hauler or rv hauler whatever. Any dealer can give you a trip permit or if its private party go to the dmv and get one. No big deal.

I was able to buy temporary insurance when I purchased mine. It was high dollar as hell. About $300 to drive it home 180 miles, but it covered me for 30 days.

The DMV in the state you buy it can give you any permits to move it, or the selling dealer can also if you are buying from a dealer.
