king....$2.50 + FSC would be ok if the FSC was .65/m

but theres the problem...it isnt high anymore, and some guys i have talked to no longer get one at all
the last load i ran the fsc was .31/m...and it was high compared to what alot of guys are gettin.....im sure now it is below.25

this aint the 80's... i know my minimum per mile is lower than alot of guys....but $1.25/m+fsc to the truck barely makes the payment...forget repairs, new parts, extra fuel, chrome and all that...even eating outside of the truck

get in one king......see what this life costs both monitarily and in your personal life....then come back and say runnin cheap is the way to go

Well its true, I called and had them price it for me and that is the quote they gave me.

I allways run loads about 400 to 500 miles in that price range.

Just say no to cheap freight!:biggrin_25512:

Personally i would be happy making $86.00 per hr TODAY with fuel surcharge protection for me my truck and fuel, from what i see in the real world !

Well im glad someone in this business is getting rich for a load like that, 3-4 bucks a mile or 1500-2300 for it!

Are you doing that 6 days a week? Are you home every night, are you traveling great roads no mountians or steep hills? are you loaded and unloaded in a total of 45min.

OR are you sitting for hours or days with little or no pay or waiting to be loaded/unloaded and sitting and waiting hour and days for another 4 dollar a mile load? OR spending weeks away from family?

I really hope your doing it, but i think im being B.S.ed

You can think it all you want but the loads we run in the oilfield constantly pay $4++ per mile.:biggrin_255:

Sometimes the roads are not the best, sometimes there is no road.:biggrin_25512: Mostly flat land (Gulf Coast). Mostly loaded in 1.5hr and unloaded in 1.5hrs. And I'm home 80% of the time meaning I sleep in my bed 5 out of 6 nights.:biggrin_25525:

You can think your being BSed all you want or I can give you a number and you can have them quote the price of a load and see for yourself.:yes2557:

Oh yeah the load that I just got home from picked up 20min from the house and went 245miles to Marshall Tx that paid $1548.67

And another thing there are times that I have to wait to get loaded or unloaded like one rig I went to. Got there at 5am like requested and did not get unloaded till 7pm, but after the 1st hr of waiting they were charged $75.00 and hour.

An in between loads when I am sitting its at MY HOUSE on MY COUCH. Then again I don't usually sit too much I make about 5-6 loads a week, they would run me more but I like my relaxing time:biggrin_25525:

Another ex. for you 2 month ago I brought some equip to New York (don't usually EVER go that far). Total mileage was 1498 and the price was $9200.

You came here asking a question. DOn't get bent just because you don't like the answer. If you want it done cheap then call swift, then they can tear up your trailers and not show up with your loads etc.

I think coonass is being sold short by his company personally. I worked in the oilfield and we charged between $104 and $145hr from the time the driver showd up on the yard (which usually turned out to be when the driver got the phone call to come to the yard)untill that truck was back in the yard, fueled and parked. That also included all time to go washout the truck which was often 4 to 6 hours out of the way.
the only downside to that work is being on call 24/7

Personally I don't like to go out without knowing how I'm getting back so I'll gladly sit at the house a week looking for a good load.. It makes much more sense to sit at home with my family not wearing out my truck or a week then run a week for $3mi then it does to run two weeks for $1.50mi and not see your family.

ANd truth be told I'm preparing to go back to hauling medical equipment and you wouldn't believe my rates if I did tell you (which I'm not)
