What would you do if you missed the low bridge sign?

Pulled the knobs. Taken a 34 hr. restart...consider my options.

 

I agree the new drivers should take notice of this video.

 

Lots of mismarked bridges in Chicago. Went under one marked 13'0" on Western Av, and I know I was at least 13'5". Similar one on North Avenue.

Speed up of course or you will never make it under that bridge up ahead. Always wanted to pull a skateboard!

 

Had it happen to me in Schenectady, NY. Actually i didn't miss the sign....it was posted after i turned onto the street. That town is full of rail bridges. Anyway, I called the city cops. Two of them showed up stopped traffic and I backed up a 1/4 mile. They thanked me for calling. Said it happens all the time and the city should post the sign in a better place.

 

Can't remember where, I'm sure I posted it when it happened though, I turned on a road and AFTER a blind turn only 100' after turn, the low clearance sign comes into view the same time overpass does less than 1/2m around blind turn. Road to busy to just back out so I called police. Right off he says he wish they'd move the sign then proceeds to help me out. Company didn't need to know, End of story.,

 

I think it was a 12'5" bridge, easy decision, now, I was new, so if it was a 13'5", I may have took my chances!

 

That video has been posted many times and it's just as painful to watch the senseless destruction each time.
