Thank you, Brother!! You are so helpful!!! The school fat fingered my application and thought i didn’t want job offers, they offer job placement as part of the package. i would like a company with rider and pet policy but benefits, home time flexibility and miles have priority. Would love a company with standard transmissions since Roadmaster doesn’t teach it but seems to me as if manuals are a thing of the past for all the megas.
What would you do in my situation?

They have local (hourly), regional (miles & drop pay), and OTR - linehaul (miles, starts @ $.50 a mile w/ no experience)
If you would like more info, just let me knowLast edited: Feb 8, 2021
Speed_Drums and Chinatown Thank this. -
Dont do reefer unless you like spending hours and hours waiting to load/unload and can sleep with a loud machine running 1 foot from your head.
Those wasted hours will kill your paycheck. Companies claim to pay you for these delays, but your employer & customers have numerous tricks to avoid paying you.DoubleO7 and NewGuyUSMC Thank this. -

Local - paid by the hour and goes no further than 100 - 150 miles from the terminal.
Regional - paid by miles plus stop pay. Goes no farther than surrounding states.
Linehaul - OTR. (My husband and I do this) We go terminal to terminal. Drop and hook. We are paid by the mile.
Plasma - OTR team only (makes awesome money) @TravR1 does it.
Linehaul OTR is drop and hook, terminal to terminal. All of our terminals are located near major freeways. Easy on and off.
Terminal locations are:
Ontario, Ca, Stockton,Ca, Portland, Or,
SLC, Utah, Denver, Co, Gardner, Ks, Lancaster, Tx, Lemont, Il, Xenia, Oh, Lithonia, Ga, Dundee, Fl, Burlington, NJ.
The majority of Linehaul loads leave on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
Ex: Leave Lancaster on Saturday morning, get to Burlington, NJ on Monday @ noon. Tuesday you will probably get a call asking if you can help out. DO IT. It is usually local and they will pay you by the hour.
FFE pays Linehaul by the mile. Then if you help out local/regional you get whatever that pay is. (hourly, or miles plus drops. They also pay layover, breakdown, vacation, and sick days. Home time request 2 weeks in advance. Always have made it home when needed to be. (Even got paid to bobtail it from Gardner, Ks to Lancaster)
They allow riders and pets.
I have never had a problem with dispatch. If you help out local/regional when needed you will get better loads. Newbies for the 1st couple of months get the shorter loads. If you need to reserve parking they will reimburse you for it.
Trucks are 2017( phasing out the 2017) and newer freightliner's. The 2019, 2020 and 2021 come with a fridge and inverter. Place for microwave and T.V. Some older trucks do have inverters in them.
In addition you also get 40 hrs paid sick/day off. 1 week paid vacation 1st yr. 2 weeks paid after that. They also pay per diem, breakdown & layover.
My rookie year as a solo driver I made close to 60k. My husband's rookie yr as a solo, was around $55k.This was when pay was $.40 a mile. Now it starts @ $.50. It didn't seem like it. I thought I was sitting a lot, but helping out local & that hourly pay did wonders.Attached Files:
