Well if you really needed to get home for the holiday you had to be on you DM, hounding them weeks ago.
Now it isn't likely going to happen.

You can make an ### out out yourself but fat chance a load will materialize that runs from Colorado Springs to DFW or Houston. That is a very dead lane, but I understand you are new enough you don't know that.

Make enough of a stink they might dead head you home but I really doubt that.

As I told you before, when a planner calls you know something is screwed-up. (300miles + 75miles + 1200miles)/50mph = 31.5 hours and you only have 30. No way in hell you would make it anyway. Had you fell for it, you could consider that Friday service failure or log violation, as a early Christmas gift, from the folks at Swift.

Why not, you still are not going to get home.

I now have 3 trucks. My drivers book their own loads. They have a set amount they try to make. When and where is up to them.

My point is that working with a large company has some benefits but working for me is heavenly.

I can't disagree with any of that.I tend to remind them a week or so before, then 3 or so days out then count em down. Especially the last day.

Denver to Fort Worth on the old Raton Road and 287 takes about a day one way.

Only thing you left out there is he should nevet of been sent to Denver the week of thanksgiving. That pretty much guaranteed he won't get home. Three kid is new so i'll cut him some slack on not knowing he was heading to a black hole, but his planner knew all along that heading to Denver sealed the deal.

Don't want to get lost here...But real quick..

    BE MORE SPECIFIC

What do you mean your drivers book their own loads? Your Trucks right?

Are you having them do your leg work? obviously you use Brokers if your allowing them to choose their directions....

Or are you booking loads for the week..Then presenting each driver with a few to choose from

I'm Sure your Not making your Drivers Actually Book the Load/negotiate, While you do nothing, I Don't see you doing that.
