you're gonna feel real crappy if you get that new truck, and it gets scratched or hit right away.

keep the older truck, i personally never took brand new trucks either, the nonsense of switching things out, after i made the truck "my own", was always a bother.

I would stay with what is proven reliable until you move into something else that has proven to be reliable.

I went from a 2016 Mack with Maxidine drive train day cab to a 2024 KW T680. I put 400K miles on it and the only time it saw a shop was for an oil change.
    I want my Mack back!!!!
The KW is a plastic piece of garbage. And it has a ridiculous automatic transmission that shifts terrible not to mention the electronic faults it has.

Remember the devil you know vs the devil you don’t.

If were in your position I personally wouldn’t think think the pros would outweigh the cons of moving out of the Star car.

The deal killer for me would be the 10 speed in the new truck! Especially in the "Keystone"!
Last truck I owned had a 10 speed and after owning 2 trucks with a 13 speed, I hated that 10 speed with a passion!
I'd rather drive an AMT than a 10 speed, but I'm a little weird.........

I had a 10 speed before my automatic boat anchor and I’d take a 10 back in a hot minute.

I’ve never been one to get attached to vehicles of any kind. When I drove for the flatbed company I took all 3 new trucks offered to me. The longest I owned a single truck of my own was roughly 4 years, shortest was less than a year. After I sold my last truck and was taking the job I have now I was offered a new truck and took it.

    Thanks to the market.
True but I've had some really crappy snap-on tools.
I rotate trucks in and out of the fleet, but if a driver loves the one he is driving, he can keep it. I have a 2013 WS and a 2010 Mack in the fleet that the drivers don't want to give them up, they are well kept and the drivers are responsible to tell me what's wrong and the maintenance scheduling.

    That said, I love WS.

I drove a bunch of them, and WS is a good ride and if I was going to build a Motorhome, it would be a WS.

From the cost standpoint, once the QC issues are solved (still some issues), they have not failed my drivers.

I have Mack and other makes, I am also a fan of Mack, I have good luck with them but the others ... well ... I found the Petes and KWs are an acquired taste. I don't like them but that's me.

Like I said, you answered your own question.

I would keep the old one just for the engine alone, with the 18 speed even better.
