If you were in my situation. I thought it was going to be easy for me to get into trucking, but it has actually been not so great. I got accepted to attend Roehl's trucking school, but they needed some additional paperworks in order to complete my application, which could take months for me to get. I cannot wait that long for a job, so Roehl is out of the question. Prime was my second choice, but they said NO to me because i have no work history the past 2 years. This is because I was going to school at that time, so i decided not to work. This is where i'm at, so should i just keep trying other companies? Or do something else? Right now, i'm looking for company-sponsored schools only. I guess they get so many applications so i'm just a number, which i can understand. My option right now is to apply at Swift or Central Refrigerated. But is this what you would do if you were in my situation? Do i have better options? Thank you so much.
What would you do?

CENTRAL REFRIGERATED! Hands down. You couldn't catch me dead in a Swift truck. They have horrible pay, old Volvos and they treat there drivers like numbers. I remember a recruiter coming to my school from Swift. Listening to his presentation, everyone got the impression from him that the attitude at their company is, we don't need you, you need us. I don't know about how others might feel, but I would never wanna work for a company that sends individuals like that person to represent it's brand.

I agree with King Trucker. I've heard a lot of positives about Central. Not so much for Swift. Swift is normally the choice for people who have no other choices.
KingTrucker Thanks this. -
If you we're attending school that counts as work

Get back in school, finish what you were studying, get a job in that field. I do not think trucking is what you need to do.
Sorry, but you asked.landstar8891 and 123456 Thank this. -
I'd say stick it out with Roehl .
While my opinion of these schools is that they're diploma mills , it does cost a lot , in capital and man hours , to get an inexperienced person to the point of just getting their CDL nowadays.
Good Luck , whatever you decide to do. -
Forget Prime. They did you a favor. Go with another company. If you want to drive you'll find a way.

Without proof you was at that school, you're going to have trouble finding a company that'll take you.Can you just give them the schools number then they can varify you was there? How do you know it may tke months for additional paperwork? What all do you need besides proof you was at that school?Yes you are just a number especilly if you are an excellent worker. You need to stop that, lol.
