What would YOU want in a job in trucking?

My fault I skimmed his OP I thought he was a driver asking for things to look for in a company. I didn't read carefully enough the part where he said he was an owner starting a company, my fault.

 

Pet & rider program. Take a family member along.

 

Aren't they more expensive?

 

All I want is a pre- 2000 truck/engine fair pay and to be left alone to do my job the way I get it done.
I prefer running hard or being home.
And I like being paid % rather then by the miles.

 

Apu/EPU or no crying about idle time

Long hauls 1500+ avg length of haul

25 detention/hr detention

minimum 60 cpm

drop yards

no use of the term “earned home time”.

75 mph and loads that aren’t planned with excessive time on them. 2k mile load? Have it deliver the morning of day 4 on the load.

 

Nope, unless you load them up like I do with all the bells and whistles minus the #### hood mirrors and beep beep ####.
About 160k with apu for a modest fleet spec. Far more dealers and Detroit shops in country than Volvo.

 

I'm a driver and one thing I like is the place to have work culture, where they care about you outside of work
