The only watch I got is a Rolex and I only pull it out of the safe for special occiations. The rest of the time I just use my phone or iPad for the time.

The cheapest watch I can get at Walmart.
I have busted and/or lost some expensive and personally valuable watches while "trucking". The "cheap" ones work just as well, and are cheap to replace if lost or broken.

I don't know why I am compelled to answer this thread almost the same as I did 6 months ago.

Luminox battery powered with tritium hands and dial marks. $125 at the army store. Most of the $ is for the tritium but it is always glowing regardless of the last time it was in the light.

One has a regular black nylon band with a buckle. The other has a wide and large OD green nylon band with velcro closure and an additional nylon/velcro flap that covers the watch to protect it. I recommend that kind of band for harsh duty. The watches have a synth. sapphire crystal which is very tough but I know that band has saved the watch a couple times when it has been struck by hard metal objects.

Which one I wear, or none, depends on what I am going to be doing. These are the commercial versions of one kind of military issue watch and as far as I can tell are exactly the same except the dial face does not say U.S. on it These are not jewelery and not shiny. I wouldn't bother to post pics of watches but I am really happy with these and especially the protective watch band. My wrist are large and that band was one of a few that fit.
