What you like about trucking?

Unexpected turn. I was prepared to get into a discussion. I'm glad it didn't go that route, I like this site because there is so much great information on here. I enjoy meeting new drivers, here and on the road. I too could have left it well enough alone, I guess I was a little cranky this A.M. (I had not had my coffee yet)

 

nothing like a good cup,as far as trucking i love being alone traveling meeting new people,and the money is good,

For me it's seeing parts of the country I would never have seen had I been working in an office job. I like the freedom, the food I get to try, the pay, learning to enjoy my own company, meeting new people. Prior to this job, I had never left the state of NY. Like with all jobs, there's positives and negatives. Most of the time I see negs but this post made me think deeply as to why I got into this profession in the first place. Thanks for making it.

 

Constantly moving... living in a "house on wheels"... seeing different places constantly, different people... variety... sometimes I love to drive at night, when I am rested, the moon is full, the weather is good, I have plenty of hrs to drive till morning when I can find a place to park... I like to drive, being alone, by myself... I like to drive the big truck, sitting up high I have a good vision of the road...

 

Best thing about trucking? Going home.
