We bid a start time where I work. New bids every 6 months. I punch in at 3:45 pm Sat, Sun, Tue, Wed, Thu. Off Mon and Fri. 12-14 hour days usually.

Not here. Ours are lifetime, until you sign up for another run that is, and are for both an area and a start time.

Running wild for linehaul is one thing, but getting sent to an area you don’t know with 20 deliveries on a 48’ trailer is a recipe for disaster.

    Mike2633 and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Sometimes that’s true, and sometimes not. Situations do vary greatly.

I’ve found that the best chances for “normal” hours in this job are greatly influenced by whose buttocks one plants their lips upon. This driver refuses to do that.

Mike2633 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.
