Hello,
I'm a newbie- off to CDL school in three days. I'm one of those last hold-outs who's resisted getting a cell phone. Since I'm gonna be going out on the road for at least a week at a time once I finish school; I s'pose it's time to finally get one.
I'm not lookin for anything fancy, and I definately don't want to use it while I drive. Just a basic phone to call home when I stop in the evening. It dosen't have to take pictures, videos, fly, swim, cook lunch or anything like that. Of course I'll need something without restrictions on where in the country I call from.
Any suggestions on what to start with that won't cost an arm & a leg?
Thanks, fellas (and ladies!)
Brian
What's a good, cheap first cell phone?

Thanks, KW.
That's what I ended up getting. -
yeah, pre-paid cellphones are great if you're new to the market.
There is no contract, so if there is something you dont like about it, then you can just end it.
I've had cell phones for almost 10 years now. Different companies, different brands, different options. Pre-paid is the best bet for your situation. -
Tell me more about prepaids; Specifically the "plans" in great detail.

I don't know your location but I used AT&T for many years until I moved to Fargo and it was useless between Fargo in Spokane,Wa.and that is a long ways.out west is Verizon country.

Need as much info on prepaids. Thanks.
