thanks, Reckon I did my fair share of idling in their yard. not to mention unfreezing brakes in the mornings too.

Just get a dog.
It is legal to idle anytime, with a pet in the cab subject to animal cruelty laws. No such rules/laws for humans.

that figures , why ain't i suprised.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
If you have that clean idle sticker on your truck, you are exempt from the California idle restrictions. Same thing in Pennsylvania. If your truck has a DPF, you are allowed to idle in New Jersey.

Just bring a dog. Can idle non stop then. they care more about animals than truckers.

My APU shuts off whenever my desired temperature has been reached, and will kick back on when it warms up past a certain temp from the setting. Summer time it may start up quite a few times, but in the cooler parts of the year, it may run for a few then shut off the rest of the night.

Not true. There is absolutely NO exception in the CARB regulations that allow idling with an animal in the truck. Nor do I know of one in any other state that has idling regulations.

Check the yellow pages for truck driving schools; then call and ask if they have refresher course. If you've not been driving for a long time, many companies won't accept refresher & you must do the entire CDL course. Better ask the companies you're interested in which they require. Might also ask about their idling policies & APU's.
JIMROY Thanks this.
