What's asphalt hauling like?

I love the paving jobs. To me there is only one downer to it. Cleaning the truck. In the box most spray it with diesel fuel every time. A citrus base cleaner does the job on the outside. Wheels- tailgate- hood. Etc.

 

Diesel was banned years ago for state jobs here.

 

Banned here too, we still use it... that soap water stuff sucks.

for all cleaning I use a hot pressure washer. My shop was a wash bay with a hotsy. Takes diesel and asphalt right off.

tack can be a pita though. I got tack all over my new wheels. Kind of annoying but what can you do? We’re a paving company after all.

we’re still going here in mn. I got one week left then it’s a wrap for the season and on to snow removal/land scaping for me.

Water left from the clean out boiling off?

 

Probably loaded emulations before this..... think seal coating.......

No one in their right mind would ever wash a asphalt tank out.........

 

What about that video tells you they're in their right minds? But yeah, I was thinking emulsion.

 

In neutral with light pressure on breaks. Don't want to roll off of paver loaded. Big mess between truck and paver. Lots of mad pavers
