On my blanket permit it says: 100k on 5 axles, 120k on six axles.

I totally love my blanket permit because I can just hop into a truck and go wherever I want.

You may want to start looking for a 3 axle rgn.

Yes Illinois only allows 100 on 5 and 120 on 6 but you can have up to 48 on a tandem and 60 on a Tri.

I think so too, any ideas, should I stay with mechanical or get a hydraulic? My trucks have a wet kit installed already, no need for a pony motor. How much do 3 axle RGNs weigh?

Consider maybe going with a 35T tandem RGN with a removable flip axle. Lets you run the lighter weights of a tandem with the option of a third axle when needed. My 35T TK mechanical neck is about 17K lbs as a tandem and the flip adds another 3K for about 20K empty. 29' well on it. The hydraulic neck would probably be another 1-2K heavier. I would only go with a hydraulic neck if you plan on detaching a lot.

WI is also 100K on 5 but going to 6 allows up to 166K. Only way to get there is with the max axle allowances of 20/65/81 though.

Pneumatic if it has a lift axle. A axle is only what 1200lbs or about?

Yea. It's crazy and I wouldn't want to do it but they will give you a permit for that. I don't know where you'd ever find axles/tires rated for that much though.
