Have the outside bead broke by a tire service or do it yourself
if you have the means.Wheel removal is not necessary.
Put 3 "new"golf balls inside each steer tire and inflate to 110.
Bobtail up to road speed and see what you find .
#1 It re'seats the beads and #2 It internally corrects balance issues.

The addition of a weed eater jake brake to the steering box has been
proven to be a cost effective, corrective measure.

Most useful info I`ve seen in one thread.Never heard of "coning" asteering box,I`m gonna research that.
If you have had vibration thru more than one set of tires I would look towards other mechanical issues.Worn bushings anywhere on truck, worn front spring hangers or pins, worn u-joints in the steering column, out of round brake drums or the wrong brake drum.Steering boxes are probably the most ignored component in steer/suspension systems followed by shocks.
Been chasing a shimmy/vibration at 40-50MPH on a Freightliner classic for a while with no fix yet.I`m gonna get the shop to start checking the steering box.

Our company mechanics used to always try to blame it on "the loose nut behind the wheel."

Hmmmmm, wonder what they mean by that????:biggrin_2551:

Thanks for all the input still got the problem. We've had several different sets of tires so it's not tires. We've change the shocks didn't help. Jut got another 3 axle alignment didn't help. Changed the king pins, can't find any bushings that look worn out. Changed the drag link.

    Not sure what's next.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
