UPS feeder and package car drivers start really low (I’ve heard $18/hr). I was talking with a driver who said he tops out after 10 years something like $36/hr, but year 9 to year 10 is an $8 increase.
All of those have OT after 40.[/QUOTE] UPS is 4 years to top rate from your seniority date.

The economy plays a part also.
When it crashes. And it's coming again. Wages go down and hours are cut. Drivers will be begging for work. As in. New rookies.
I was making $20 an hour and 60 hours before the last crash. When my hours dropped to 30. It was time to move on. But starting wages dropped from $16 to $10.
I went OTR and waited 7 years for wages to come back up.
Now minimum wage has doubled. But other wages haven't gone up.DnPresident Thanks this. -
What's considered good hourly pay? Depends on what works for you individually.

UPS is about the only place I would consider going to right now, but it seems like everyone starts off as seasonal, and I'm not willing to take that risk.FlaSwampRat and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
