What papers do you have to carry with you?

    I got so far:

    Cab card
    Authority permit
    Base state weight receipt
    IFTA license
Insurance (id card for truck, certificate of insurance with description of the truck, trailer, cargo coverage)
    Truck registration
    Annual Inspection for truck
    Trailer registration
    Annual inspection for trailer
    UCR registration
    Equipment rental agreement

    Am I missing something?

If you haul Hazmat you would have the federal permit, plus several states require permits too.

Because you are requires to read the regs, they changed this 2 years ago, just most DOT don't know it.

Yes. Drivers must carry a current copy of a medical examination certificate.

Don't forget your PLCB certs if you haul alcohol through PA (Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board). An absolute must if you have to haul beer or similar through PA.

A bunch of states have alcohol permits.

If you have a 53' trailer and do much in Idaho, you might need an over length permit to get off the national network

It isn't necessary to keep a copy of the UCR or 2290 receipts in the truck, but you can if you wish. It never hurts to have a backup.
