You will see the country, but not always in the best of ways. I drove thru Nashville, Tn. probably 25 times before I actually had time to stop for a day and explore. On the other side of the coin, I was layed over in Chicago more times than I can count. Do you think I was miserable ?

Its what you make of it. Swift is as good a place to start as any. I did in 2001. if you have an adventurous spirit, and don't have to be home for any reason do this; put everything you own in storage after you've been through school, and are assigned a truck. then you can bank the money you make and not pay for a home you're never at. second, take your time off when you are in a place that interests you. I would take a day or two here and there between loads to enjoy where I was. Eating lobsters in Maine by the bay, going to Mardi Gras, charter fishing in Florida, you get the idea. my DM loved how I didn't whine to go home, and just made my time off where I was already at. also, get a bike that you can disassemble easily and keep it in your truck. it make exploring towns and cities more enjoyable. driving a big truck in cities you've never been is an adventure unto itself. never trust your gps, EVER. do your year and move on. many better companies to pound pavement for, but you gotta earn that in safe miles and big smiles. good luck in your journey.

I started with the Swift Academy in August of 2019. Still at Swift driving OTR refrigerated. I've had good luck with them and in no hurry to go elsewhere. I'm not sure everyone who starts with Swift is as lucky as I am. But, I also have seen many with unrealistic expectations to start with.
As starter companies go, I think they are pretty good comparatively. Unsure any starter company actuaries has a top notch program. Teaching you just what you need and throwing you out there is pretty much the norm. Whether someone sinks or swims depends alot on them. My opinion anyway.

    Fresh meat,fresh meat,fresh meat. Lol
Pay no attention to all these guys telling
You how hard it is out here.

As soon as you get in the truck, they'll tell
You your just meat in the seat, call you a
Steering wheel holder and anybody with
    A pulse can do it.
Both of those things can't be true.

I hate swift just as much as any other mega.
But all my friends who started their career their
Didn't have a problem with them.
They just left for more money.

If you go with Swift, you will be "Best In Class". That's gotta be some kind of awesome to tell your friends right there!
