Whats it like working for Averitt Express

I worked for Averitt Express for 5 years and I started off driving Line Hual (OTR) for two (2) years and I avg about 2200 miles a week, 90% drop & Hook and never unloaded a trailer. Then I became a Combo Driver (Local) out of their Tampa Service Center making $19.50 per hour 12 hours a day Mon thru Fri with the opinion of Saturday work. I loved it! The were a very driver/family oriented trucking company with great benefits. I wish I didn't have to leave but my ex-wife needed to move back to Rhode Island and I wanted to be near my kids so I followed leaving the best driving job I ever had. I wish they would expanded into the North East instead of out West like they have been. Great company you are very lucky to have found a home with them!

 

keep in mind this driver worked out of the ltl division. the rest of the company is different. otherwords if he was in truckload he wouldn't have anything good to say

 

Guess you missed the first part where he drove OTR for 2 years before switching to LTL.
