I recently "failed" a pre employment drug screen. The MRO said it was inconclusive false negative. I asked the company to be retested in which they said no it is against company policy. I called HireRight and the result has posted as a failed UA.I then set in motion to dispute the result. I do not do drugs period not even Advil.

    Do I/Should I see a SAP?
Is anyone aware of a company supplying false information to HireRight trying to "get even with" a trucker for disputing a result
    What should I do next?

I haven't driven one single mile for any company.

I would like to have answers

    mje Thanks this.

A dot drug test is a split sample which means you had two samples come back false negative. A false negative is given when they detect masking agents or diluted urine. You can protest but if the sample was split in front of you sealed and then intialed by you its going to be tough.

When you are driving company equipment you should get two drug tests one paid by your company & one paid by you the same day.But most drivers will never spend the $50 & Do that because they know that they are clean.........Wrong Why ? How much do you know about the ethics of the person/company that collects the samples? But at the end of the day you must ask your self this question.Which is cheaper Loose $50? for a 2nd drug test or loose my job?

It was actually 200 dollars...and it was to test the second vial of the same urine...not to mention what new trucker with no would go KNOWINGLY to a UA with dirty urine?...and it wasn't a positive or false positive...but a inconclusive false negative...thanks for wasting both of our time with no helpful information...

They can not charge you to test the B sample. That is why they take the B sample. A split sample test is done on D.O.T. Drug test. They test the A sample, if it fails, comes back false negative which means masked or diluted, or inconclusive which means degraded, they test the B sample. The person testing the A sample is different from the one testing the B sample. If your company is trying to charge your and say its for the B sample then someone is flat out lying. You should have a form from when you did the test, and you should get a form from the lab stating the failure and what was picked up in the urine to get a false negative.

What exactly are "masking agents" or "diluted urine"?

The MRO told me that another lab would test the B sample but I would be responsible for paying for the B sample test if the company would not pay for it...when I asked the company for a second test they said no...when I asked if they would pay for the B sample to be tested they said said no...I did not use any agent to mask or alter my urine...I don't have the need to...

did you by chance drink excessive amounts of water before the test. I have heard that drinking too much water will deluite the urin and can make you fail because they think you are trying to hide something
