Yes. If the wheels of the truck aren't turning you get hourly pay for work related stuff. So you get both.
What's the actual beef with YRC

Also if you discover something wrong with your truck while you are doing a pre trip you get paid while it is getting fixed in the shop.

I see all this .46 cpm and 20. something/hr as good money? I'm not sure I agree. We are getting $25.41 and .61 cpm, but our health insurance is not paid, currently I pay 17.00 per week for my family.
We are paid 100% for everything we do, at our hourly scale, to include accidents and break downs. The union has been trying to come into some of our barns and organize but has had little to no success. I'm not pro or against the union, I'm just not sure the benefit of their services. Besides, the Central States Pension Fund is in significant trouble from what I understand and is preparing to cut benefits.
Our equipment is all pretty up to date and our maintenance is pretty good too. I'm not sure a 15% cut would have compelled me to hang out, hopefully it will turn around for you guys. -
oh yeah......we are home everyday. I run line haul and our freight moves every night and comes home in the morning. No hotel stays....except in an extremely rare instance. They usually just send to drivers in a car to pick you up and bring you in if your outta hours to drive. For which you get paid hourly as soon as you run out of drive hours until you arrive at your home terminal.
Everyone driving line haul is making 85-110k a year.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
My only opinion of YRC is their equipment looks terrible, ancient and unmaintained...That's just the appearance, I haven't touched one personally...

We are having a hard time keeping drivers at our terminal in Pennsylvania. Everybody is quitting and going to work for ABF. I didn't realize how bad it was going to be until I got here. The only thing this job has going for it is that it's 13 miles from my house. I make half of what I made at R&L carriers back in 2007. Due to the geographic location of my terminal we only seem to run 300 miles a day which isn't enough to pay your bills if you're a normal person. Some of the guys at other terminals are making twice what I'm making but it's simply due to the geographic location and spacing between terminals which determines how much work you will be getting.
