What's the actual beef with YRC

We work for the same company and I'm lucky to take home $600 a week and my benefits are totally different than yours. My dental insurance is about the worst in the country. The benefits are negotiated by the local and have nothing to do with the company itself.

 

Pay all depends on what you do at the company. P&D and Linehaul pay is night and day different. Plus terminal determines if you have long runs and how busy of one you work at. I have a long run. Dental is no doubt not great. But I was quoted 700.00 for a 2k-3k wisdom teeth pull for all of them. Plus co worker that had a 100k open heart surgery only had to pay 20k. Most insurances won't cover more then half. Another co worker got emergency airlifted from a atv accident which punctured a lung. Paid 1500 out of pocket for the whole thing including being in the hostipal. That was likely 20k easy or more bill. I've interviewed for OD and from what he said to about benefits wasn't as good it wasn't bad but wasn't as good.

 

At my terminal, linehaul and P&D pays about the same. It's hard to support a family running 1800 miles per week which is what the linehaul guys average at my terminal. Carlisle guys make a lot more than our guys. It is simply a geographic issue instead of a company issue. I was simply pointing out to prospective drivers not to make a decision in one state based on someones experience in another. It is best to talk to guys at the terminal in question to find out specifics before wasting time with the application process. I made the same doing linehaul as P&D so I'm sticking with P&D for now until I can relocate to a different county.
