What's the attraction to OTR in 2023?

    Regional or local at a bad mega maybe. Bad meaning lots of layover and unpaid detention..

    Very unique in that Macau was once a colony of Portugal...the official languages there are still Cantonese and Portuguese to this day.

    The only thing I miss about OTR is the freedom. My only interactions I had with the company was getting loads through a tablet. I never actually saw any dispatchers and only spoke on the phone with them maybe 2 times the year I did OTR.

    I do not miss sitting 12hrs to get loaded/unloaded, hunting for empties, hunting for parking and of course, low pay.

    Same here..

    My Perspective: If I can make close to the same check and be home, then I'm not going to live in the truck. I'll run 2-4 loads every couple days otherwise.

    I'm also not too sure about OTR avoiding city driving like someone mentioned... I was in LA, Dallas, Boston, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, NY boroughs plenty of times when I was OTR..
