What's the average you make off of one truck weekly as a fleet owner?

This really depends on what you are doing but with dry vans or reefers I would figure about $400-$500 per week profit per truck. This is what you should have left over before you pay yourself. General rule of thumb is that you need 6 trucks to make any money for yourself that way you can pay yourself around $2k per week and reinvest another $1k back into your business for growth.

I would not plan on driving yourself if you are going to own other trucks and have company drivers there is not enough time to plan what they are doing grow your business. You can pretty much do it all yourself up to about 10 trucks and you would be making decent money in the $3k-$4k per week range but you will never get a second off.

Exactly how I figured it. $500 per week per truck. $26k a year per truck profit. That's whats left after all expenses, including driver pay, paying me and my drivers 40 CPM all miles. I plan to drive and have an office person at home to keep track of driver pay, maintenance records, and the like. The fleet I lease my trucks into will dispatch them until they prove incompetent to do so. Call me greedy but I want a wage PLUS compensation for taking the business risk.
