If you are not currently working the state may be willingly to pay for your school. If you do need to pay then UT is on the cheaper side of cost.
Professional Truck Driving (KPDR) | SLCC
Total Estimated Cost: $1,649.70
Not going through a company for training will open more doors and while job hopping is not recommended it's nice to know you can leave if things are really bad.
What's the best company to start with in Utah?

A few drivers on here were hired recently for Swift cdl training. They train in Phoenix and maybe Salt Lake City.
Not sure about pet policy.
The OP wants a trucking company cdl school and a pet policy after training.

CRST is taking cdl students, but they team for about 10 mos. before getting your own truck and running solo. Depends on the driver and how quickly wants to get the career started with a trucking company cdl school.
This picture is a CRST truck running Walmart dedicated.
CRST has dozens of dedicated accounts.

Wilson Logistics hired a few new students for their school during the past couple of weeks. They're keeping the classes small, 4 or 5 students.

is that the cost to obtain a CDL in Utah is it a crash course between classroom and out in the truck that’s a good priceUpinsmoke Thanks this.

Anything but a crash course. 270 hours 7-11 weeks! It is a community college courses. Quite a few hoops to jump through. Click on the link from scott180. I would personally recommend Company Sponsored training over that deal. No money out of pocket, practically guaranteed hire. Pass the class, road test, get CDL, Be on the road with a trainer in just a few weeks. Just my $.02Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Lots of options are available for training. Check with the state employment department on help with the funding of training school cost. If you can, try to get the CDL outside of a company sponsored program. You will have a lot more options that way, and no strings attached. In SLC, several companies have terminals, swift/knight, Schneider, pride, c.r.england and a few others. Yes, they are megas and have some crappy reviews, no your not going to be suddenly wealthy, have to start some where. The thing your looking for is OTR training and a solid first year with NO problems. Set the goal of that, know that it is a time line. After that you can move to a better place for you.
During the first 3 to 6 months, you will need to find alternate arrangements for your dog. Most will not allow an animal during any training, and then maybe for a time afterwards. Don’t be surprised if the company wants a pet deposit.Last edited: May 17, 2020

Add another $100 is so for DMV fees and it's the full cost. In depth training. Better than you'll get with most carriers because the majority of trainers just want trainer pay but don't always teach you anything.
The big thing is that if you are unemployed they will pay it for you and you'd still get unemployment while going to school.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
