The map detail and touch screen responsiveness would be awesome, but I find that the address accuracy in Google Maps sucks.

I agree, wished they had a truck version. I've used the google NAV app on my Samsung tablet for over four years now. Never had issues like we had recently with the RM's.

I disagree, we purchased few of them recently, I can only say, Overpriced with hardware/software failures right out of the box, even after the units were updated !!!! I will only use RM for laminated pages.........:biggrin_2558:

i own the cheapest trucker unit. it works much better then the more expensive truck unit.
doesn't require daily updates. doesn't require me to buy a new unit when it breaks. i've only paid for it ONE TIME. has absolutely ZERO pages of tech support on TTR. much better UI. doesn't freeze up and require reboots. doesn't develop faulty charger cables. has better routing. doesn't require an external antannae. and i have no problems following it blindly. cuz it knows the streets better then me.

only time i get into trouble with mine. is when i DON'T listen to it.

I use the Garmin Dezl 760. I have had good luck with it and like some of the apps on it such as the IFTA logging.

Yes, it would take a comparison by an individual to ascertain the best. I am interested in everyone's opinion also, just remember to filter out the "mine is best" bias. I have RM730, I like it, but I have no experience with any other to compare it.

Excuse me for not answering sooner, I got some sleep after that comment.. I am aware the topic pops up from time to time just the same as other topics do.. You're usually all over GPS threads and since you appeared to have missed a thread on copilot and since the thread we're on is a question about GPS"s in general I merely passed it along .. No puns inteneded
