I really think you’re going to have a difficult time with this. Namely because it sounds like you want to go the LP route. Rather than buying your own, then leasing it onto someone who can provide you access to more and higher paying freight.

I’m not sure what your net is at the moment. But many doing LP are not doing near the gross you’re getting. And they have truck payments much higher than you.

Sure there’s a trade. Fewer mechanical issues and better fuel economy. But those savings are quickly eaten by higher truck payments. And possibly lower revenue.

Actually I'd rather buy my own truck than do a lease purchase but I've had trouble getting one on my own. Great credit score but not a long enough credit history according to the dealership financial department. And the owner of my company was supposed help with that but hasn't answered any texts phone calls or emails since I was denied. I need my company to cosign but clearly that's not gonna happen. So I have to wait.
Well my overhead is 900/week plus fuel, tolls and whatever other expenses I incur. But that's why I've stayed here; the gross is higher here. I'd rather make more money than have a more competent company lol
But ultimately, if I had a new truck, I wouldn't even be searching for other options. I'd be fully content where I'm at

They have 20 drivers and 100 owner/operators. Owner/operators are not drivers.

I'm pretty sure I know the company you are talking about, they are not all that bad, there are worst and I know one of the warehouses most of the freight comes out of that they service.

I am not going to be nice about this but get over it, this is the norm, not the exception. There you can work with some of the management but try other places and you won't be happy with this attitude, like at LS. They won't hold your hand and I can tell you right NOW you are not ready for LS and how that system works.

You should be happy with 90%, all you are doing is hauling their trailer and nothing else. You are not doing the back office or chasing money.

I read this from the above quote - I am not ready.

A new truck still needs financial support, and a new truck won't fix your problems. Maybe learning how to run lean and handle finances will get you into a new truck but to assume your company will "cosign" is really why I am saying all of this.

Where I'm leased at I live off of brokered freight by choice and there's no hand holding. That's always feast or famine and right now is same ol January as any other January. It's not for everybody and I'm not a recruiter. I like what I'm doing when it's busy and not so much so when it's not. Sounds like where you're at has some established relationships to be pulling in a steady income like that. Not sure what your complaint is but everyone out here is crying over rates tanking.

You should read all the comments before you comment. And especially the main post or even the title of it smh
A driver is a driver. OO is a driver. They drive. You're trying to argue irrelevant semantics. Dont bother.
If you would have read the comments, I am not out here to bash my company. Some #### is irritating so I'm exploring my options before I make any decisions. The only reason I laid out my companies specs is bc I wanted ppl to have something to compare to when suggesting comparable companies.
And I wasn't assuming my company would cosign, my owner said he would and then didnt.

    Zayah Thanks this.

Well the rates definitely are affecting me as well. But my complaint is just the company in general. So I'm just exploring my options. I'm not here to complain about my company. I put my specs out there to see if someone else was comparable so I could possibly switch over. But from the sound of it, I'm at the best place I can be for now
