What's the best way to get back into trucking?

    This industry doesn't like people who don't know anything about it.

    For instance, instead of working at some dead end factory job for 5 years, you could have gone straight to YRC from Werner and work as a dock worker there. YRC even trains their employees for truck driving. By now you would have had 5 years in, and 15 years left of work before you can retire with a teamsters pension.

    Think before you act.

    One suggestion for the OP is to apply as a dockworker at all the LTL's in his area. That will allow him to use a spare tractor and trailer to practice manuevers in the yard and refamiliarize himself with everything when he's off shift.
