IF you can juggle it, try to set it up so you are walking away with all the money they owe you, paid.
If you have vacation time coming, take it, or set it up to be paid on your earned home time.
Of course, turn the truck in where you are supposed to.
(Another reason not to work for a company a couple states away)
If the company likes to play games, you sometimes can trick them into paying you all the money they owe you.....before you quit.
This may mean juggling your time off or vacation pay so your return date is a day or so after payday.
I was going to quit a company I had been with for 4 years, and was jerking me around on being transferred to a dedicated fleet I had been accepted at. The normal fleet sucked, wasn't worth staying with.
I set up my time off so it would end on payday, cashed in my vacation, had direct deposit, and as soon as it hit the bank, faxed in a resignation letter, and requested the next load to get me to a terminal. I had an equally bad job lined up, but at least it was with different faces behind the BS.
Before I got to the terminal to clean the truck out, I got a message instructing me I had been transferred to the dedicated fleet, which was better, I didn't quit.....and I got two more years in with that company with much better pay and working conditions.
(then they lost that account and I quit, and went to work with the new contractor for 6 years.)
USe your head. Quit on your terms.
(but line a job up, don't abandon a truck or load) -
If it were me I would get home first clean trk out then give a notice. My notice would be plz route me back to the terminal I quit.Companies don't appreciate notices anyway.Alot of times they'll make your final weeks with them a nitemare

Do you have a contract with them??

Uphold your end of the contract if their is one. Clean the truck head to toe. Regardless of how you received it. Turn your truck in at the proper place do not abandon it.
